San Diego Gooners – San Diego Arsenal FC Fan Website

This website is an Arsenal Fan Website

This is a website featuring content from select fans of the Arsenal Football Club that have ties to San Diego. It is Not overtly an Arsenal Website anymore than it is a San Diego Website. It is the start of the implementation that I had planned to do together with the most important person in my life, to celebrate our love of Football/Arsenal, and our love of San Diego. Now, many years after the initial idea, hopefully it can offer some insights into how football can unite people, even if it sometimes divides people. There will be a mix of things having to do with being a fan of Arsenal, football and club specific commentary, football related content, and probably food, travel, things to do and other blog-type content about being a fan in San Diego – a truly magnificent city. Thank you Bryce and Sofia for being perfect.

Don’t take it too seriously, but I hope you enjoy something here.

San Diego Gooners Circa Early 2008

My Best Friend introduced me to Arsenal Football (I’m almost positive it was the 05-06 season), and I swear that I didn’t even know what “The Invincibles” was until about my 20th game of watching the legendary Thierry Henry. In fact, my catalyst, other than the fact that I had a built in Pub-buddy in my best friend, was probably Henry’s grace and excellence. I was hooked after a 5 minute YouTube video of Henry Highlights. Note: YouTube Launched in February 2005. so it was all new to us at that point. It was hard to get matches on regular schedules and on regular channels back then here in San Diego. Yes, I’m old.
